Demo Instance of PDG Verification System

Documentation

The PDG verification system is documented at http://pdgdoc.lbl.gov/verification.

Access to the demo version of the PDG verification system

The demo version of the new PDG verification system is available at

https://pdgprod.lbl.gov/verifier_test/Verification

This link gives access to the pages for all experiments/verifiers and to summary pages where papers are grouped by the corresponding PDG overseer. For overseers, an instance of PdgWorkspace corresponding to the demo verification system is available at https://pdgprod.lbl.gov/verifier_test/PdgWorkspace.

Some examples of specific links that might be sent to verifiers are:

In the configuration of the demo system, there is a single verifier for each experiment except ATLAS. For ATLAS, as an example, there are specific verifiers each for Top and Higgs, and a main verifier for everything else. The configuration of the production system is set up based on the preference of each experiment.

Differences between demo and production version of the verification system

The demo version of the verification system is intended as a demo and test instance of the real system. It runs on a separate database that is disconnected from the PDG production system (you know this is the case when "database: verifier_test" or similar is displayed in the header).

The main differences to the production system are:

  • The entries and papers available for verification are based on what was added for the 2017 web-update of the Review of Particle Physics. The configuration in terms of assigned verifiers is what was current for the 2017 update. The assignment of verifier(s) for a given experiment may be different in the production system.
  • You may find lots of corrections and comments submitted by others for testing.
  • None of the submitted comments will be forwarded to PDG. Do not use the demo system to suggest real changes or point out any mistakes in the Review.
  • Confirmation e-mails of suggested changes will be sent only to you and will not be sent to the PDG overseer.
  • The authorization codes that are needed to suggest corrections in the real system are filled in automatically. Thus you can test the system in the role of any verifier.
